This par four hole plays downhill and moves gently from left to right. The distant marker indicates the ideal line for a safe drive which provides a clear line to the green. Such a drive favours the left-hand side, where there is considerably more room than it would appear, and also avoids the trees to the right of the fairway. The approach shot has to clear an expanse of heather and deep gullies which front the green. Heather banks protect the left-hand side of the green with further heather present to the right. The green itself is generously sized and, dependent upon the position of the flag, requires careful club selection to leave a short putt.
