The penultimate hole is a lengthy par four which provides a stern test. The tee shot is played over heather, gorse, rough and across a step heather bank. The hole moves gently from right to left with heather and mature trees lining both sides of the fairway. Ideally the drive should move from the right and finish on the left-hand side. This shortens the hole and avoids the need to negotiate the large oak tree which blocks approach shots played from the right. The fairway then falls downhill to cross-rough and heather before rising again to a green which collects from the right-hand side. The green is quite large with many difficult slopes and borrows to be negotiated.
