Looking Ahead to the SeasonWe will be putting out the new Slim Pins, flags, and hole cups in preparation for the Slim Pin fundraiser on 12th April. A big thank you to Robin Cox for his efforts in raising funds for this. New 150 yard posts will also be installed around the same time, along with extra red hazard posts to ensure clear identification of hazards across the course. Our white tee posts are looking a little tired, and we are currently exploring the option of having them refurbished and slightly shortened by one of our members. If that is not feasible, we will look to replace them this year—one way or another, this will be resolved. Three new benches have been ordered: one for the 8th tee, one for the 10th, and one for the 14th tee. Now that the ground is dry, we can also bring in a contractor to finish off the flooring for the halfway shelter, which was constructed last year. We have also been exploring ways to improve the bell system on the 8th, as it never seems to last very long—recently proven when a member tied his dog to the post, only for the dog to pull on his lead and break it! We will be installing a new post and bell in the very near future. There is plenty to look forward to as we head into the season. We approach it with some optimism and confidence that we will provide you with a great golfing experience this year. Your patience and understanding as we carry out ongoing improvements are greatly appreciated, and we will continue striving to enhance the course at every opportunity. Phil, Matt and John |
